Who We Serve
Save Our Youth serves
- 445 at-risk youth annually (ages 10-17)
- Youth who request a mentor on their own initiative
- Youth who work hard with their mentors in order to grow and improve their lives
About SOY Youth
- 50% of SOY youth have one or more parents in prison.
- 90% of SOY youth are from single parent homes.
- 90% qualify for the state’s free and reduced lunch program
- 45% of SOY youth are Hispanic, 45% are African-American, 10% are other.
- Youth are evenly divided male and female; 50% are in high school.
SOY serves youth from 15 neighborhoods in the Denver Metro Area including: Auraria, Baker, Barnum, Capital Hill, City Park West, Commerce City, East Colfax, Five Points, Jefferson Park, Lincoln Park, Montbello, Montclair, North Aurora, North Littleton and Villa Park.
