Mentor Recognition: Each January SOY hosts an appreciation event for all of the mentors.

College Prep: This ongoing program assists our high school seniors with every aspect of preparing for and getting into college. Click here to find out more.

Graduation Celebration: Many of our youth are the first in their family to graduate from high school so it is a big time to celebrate. SOY hosts a dinner and program for the grads, their families and mentors at the Washington Park Boathouse. Individual recognition is given to each graduate.

Full Swing Golf: Full swing is a special summer golf program for mentees and their mentors. A series of four classes are offered one per week. Click here to find out more.

Back To School Barbeque: Going back to school in the fall is an exciting time but many of our families don’t have the means to buy all the school supplies needed. At this event, each mentee is given a back pack filled with school supplies. The evening is made even more enjoyable with a big BBQ feast, live music and lots of fun and games.

Christmas Party: A dinner, program and a gift for each mentee makes this a memorable evening for all.

Mentor Training: In addition to the introductory training that SOY requires of all of our mentors (offered twice each month), SOY offers ongoing training opportunities for all of our mentors four times each year. The training topics range from problem solving techniques, listening skills, and helping your mentee succeed in school.
