What Is the Cost of Poverty Experience?
COPE is a 2.5-hour, interactive poverty simulation that challenges participants to navigate a month in the life of a family living with limited resources.
Participants consistently leave with:
A deeper understanding of how systems impact families
Greater empathy for the decisions made under the strain of poverty
A clearer picture of why relationships and stability matter so much
This is not a presentation.
This is not a panel.
This is an experience.
Why This Experience Matters - For You
COPE invites you to move beyond statistics and good intentions and into a deeper understanding of the communities we serve.
For those who give, serve, lead, and walk alongside others, COPE offers perspective that sharpens compassion and grounds outreach in empathy rather than assumption. Many participants leave with renewed clarity about how faith, generosity, and presence can come together in more thoughtful and effective ways.
This experience often becomes a turning point—not just in understanding poverty, but in how we choose to respond to it as a community.
Ready to register?
To protect the integrity of the experience, COPE is intentionally limited in size. While there is no cost to attend, each experience is thoughtfully curated for those present—which means your participation truly matters.
Seats are limited, and you have been personally invited to join us. Please register only if you are confident you can attend and engage fully.
Saturday, April 18 - 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
"I grew up in poverty, but COPE showed me how easily perspective fades once you’ve escaped it. This experience brought clarity I didn’t know I had lost."
“The poor you will always have with you.” — Matthew 26:11
Jesus did not say this to diminish the poor, but to call His followers to see them clearly, serve them faithfully, and love them wisely.
Understanding poverty helps us represent Christ with greater compassion, humility, and truth.
